Their successful experience intrigued me… So I rewrote one of my blog post and gave it a red eye magnet title, Yellow Mouse Robots Spray : Repel Search Engine Robots From Indexing Your Pages, then submitted it to my secret article directories. Within hours the article was picked up by several blogs and I found 86 references when searching in Google using exact phrase “Yellow Mouse Robots Spray”.

No what does red eye magnet title mean? It means that human factor still influences in choosing articles. It’s similar like when we browse for books in a book store. Which book attracts our eyes first? Obviously the one with flashy and colorful cover and title!

Is SEO Title Totally Useless?

In short answer, NO. SEO still plays important role in bringing your free web traffic. Remember that in the Internet the only way you can find everything is by using keyword. You entered a keyword into a search engine like Google, and it would generate results based on your keyword.

Then you would choose which one to browse based on its description or its title. And this is where red eye magnet title plays its important role.

Do you notice that in this title I use two different keywords, free web traffic and SEO?

Punch Line

One more thing that I want to share: add a punch line to your red eye magnet title. It will bring more attention to your title. Like I use “Is SEO Title Totally Useless?” in this title. This contradiction simply makes people curious to read more

To check for original content of his articles, I used www.copyscape.com to check each article and I found 2 articles has duplcate content. When I saw your comment, it puzzles me as I have verified with copyscape.com before I published it. You may want to confirm my checking result. I just checked again it returns me with the same result - no copies of this page were found! I am still puzzled of how this content escape being detected to be a copy of your article.

Nevertheless, I have deleted this article from my blog as I hate duplicate content. Sorry again for this unintentional act.

Having known this is done unintentionally, he was also cheated by his ghostwriter, and he deleted my article from his blog, I let this matter drop. However, to prevent incident like this, I suggest you to read Ghostwriting Goldmine by Lorette Lyttle before hiring ghostwriters.

Now, what’s the relation between back link and content penalty?

Recently, Matt Cutts, the software engineer of Google, actually said that your site will not be penalized so long as the syndicated articles link back to the source site. This means that article marketing as a strategy is still sound if article directories include a resource box with a link back to your site.
