Hmmm… So I wonder if this Alpha Mobile Beta served as a virtual program to show what DTAlpha looks like or feel in an actual PDA? I thought I actually could access DTAlpha with my PDA directly by using Alpha Mobile Beta.

Perhaps it’ll be unleashed in the full version of Alpha Mobile?

Update:

I just received a clarification about Alpha Mobile and DTAlpha Mobile Emulator.

The EMULATOR simply shows you an example of how it will look on an actual cell phone. The EMULATOR is NOT the DTAlpha Mobile. Look at it as a graphic prototype before creating the physical version.

Now that clears my confusion

I have to limit my imagination about DTAlpha since it’s so powerful. As you may have known from my past posts about DTAlpha, DTAlpha has many major components, such as:

• Alpha Bar with RSS Feed readers, Quick Access, and VIP login.
• Media Center with Video Player and Audio Player.
• DTAlpha Product Reviews where you can also insert your Google AdSense publisher ID and you get 50% revenue from the clicks in your review pages.
• DTAlpha Spaces, the social networking connection to the Internet marketing world that has not been functional yet. I can’t wait to try it out!
• DTAlpha Forum where members of DTAlpha can interact further and network with potential JV partners.
• DTAlpha Store. It’s not been functional yet. Will it be alternative to DealDotCom.com?
• DTAlpha TV. Also not functional yet.
• DTAlpha Mobile Emulator that I have yet to try.

Now here’s where my imagination goes wild

I’d sure love it to have these extra features and don’t mind paying extra

• Alpha Bar can display new DTAlpha forum private message (PM) and can reply it there right away without going to the forum.
• Alpha Bar can display messages from DTAlpha Spaces and can reply them as well.
• Video Player and Audio Player in the Alpha Bar can be used for video phone.
• Alpha Bar can be used for instant messaging and it’s cross platform with Skype, Yahoo Messenger (YM), AIM and MSN Messenger. So I no longer have to open Skype and YM anymore.

As far as I know there’s no other product or service that offers this all-in-one integration. DTAlpha can be the first

DTAlpha consists of two major components:

• Alpha Bar.
  
  A tool bar that docks on the top or the bottom of your screen, depending on your preference. It delivers the latest update in the Internet marketing in a form of scrolling message. You can change the DTAlpha setting and switch skins from Option button in this Alpha Bar, launch the Media Center by clicking the VIP Login button.

  

  In addition, you can add RSS feeds and your favorite sites into the Quick Access.

  

  

  What I really like is that I can customize the icon for each Quick Access site so I know which one is which.

  

• Media Center.
  
  A floating box that has 5 components:
  1. Today on Alpha. It announces today’s news. By default Media Center shows Today on Alpha.
  2. Alpha Briefs. It announces DTAlpha News, DTAlpha Informants Blog Posts, and Events. Clicking the DTAlpha News and DTAlpha Informants Blog Posts require you to login into DTAlpha.
  3. Alpha Reviews. It announces Alpha Reviews and Alpha Offers. Customers can review products using Alpha Reviews and the readers can rate the reviews from 1 to 5 stars, as well as choosing if the review is useful or not, and reporting abusive review. (This reminds me of Amazon.com customers reviews).
  4. Alpha Store. It consists of DTAlpha Buys, DTAlpha Informants Blog Posts, and Alpha Stores. They’re currently not fully functional yet so I can’t buy anything.
  5. Directories consists of DTAlpha Directories, DTAlpha Informant Blog Posts, and Elsewhere On the Net.
  6. Video Player plays select video.
     
  7. Audio Player plays select audio.
     

  If you don’t have Video Player and Audio Player in your Media Center, you need to get the latest skin.

  Yes, Alpha Bar and Media Center’s color and look can be changed using the skin. If I count correctly, there are 19 different skins. (The ones on the screen shots uses John Childers’ skin).

This information gives me light for my confusion. DTAlpha is so much promising with all of its features that I have yet to explore them. So please excuse my immature first impression. There are much more to DTAlpha than it looks on the surface.

I also found a check list from this FAQ. So yes, I plan to explore it to the fullest according to the check list this weekend and I will write a full review.

Currently there are two games, Internet Millionaire Game Show and My Marketing IQ Show. There will a new game released every week.

Internet Millionaire Game Show is about 2.5 MB to download and can be played by 1 - 2 players.

My Marketing IQ Show is about 4 MB to download and can be played by 1 - 4 players.

It’s quite fun to play these games. Hey, I learn from these games that every successful dot com companies start from zero… Facebook started from a dorm room, Google started from garage, and Craiglist started from a 2-bed-room apartment. Therefore don’t be depressed if your online business doesn’t soar yet! It takes your time and dedication to nurture it.

I always had the full score the second time I played these games. You want to know why? Because they have the same questions every time you play

It’d be more challenging and fun if they change the questions randomly every time the game’s replayed.

First glance about DTAlpha:

I can’t help but thinking that DTAlpha is actually only a tool bar with scrolling marketing messages. It sits on the top or bottom of my screen depending on my choice. I found that it’s less distracting if put it on top.

There are options to add RSS feeds, favorite Internet URL for quick access, and changing its theme.

Here are a few suggestions to improve DTAlpha:

1. I’d sure love it if it can auto hide because it distracts me from working, otherwise I just close it as well.
2. I prefer if the messages fade in and out instead of scrolling. It’s easier to read that way.
3. My firewall (Defense+ by Comodo Firewall) kept blocking DTAlpha every time I changed its settings or when it connected to Internet to get the latest news/update. It’s a good idea for the developers to get in touch with firewall software makers to clear this.
4. My Internet connection is not stable (I assume it’s like this in general in Indonesia) so it’s better if DTAlpha can have longer time-out to prevent disconnection from Internet.
5. I also love a user manual because I’m still confused what DTAlpha is all about. Is it just a funky version of RSS reader?
6. I also want to control the messages that appear. For example, I’m only interested in blog, SEO, and content management. I don’t want to read other topics such as PPC, copy writing, etc. This will make it more targeted based on the user preference.
