Create Blog Frequently Asked Question

Create blog. Blog directory. Photo blog. Video blog. Business blog. Free blog. All questions about these blogs are roughly the same from forum to forum, blog to blog, and even at Yahoo Answers.

There are different questions but mostly have the same answers. Since there is no FAQ for these questions, I decide to post FAQs here to help people start their own blogs. I may include some of the original questions to give you some background.

1. What is blog? What is the meaning of the word?

   A blog is an online journal. It is a frequently updated website featuring diary-type commentary and links to articles or other web sites.

2. For what blog is useful?

   It’s useful for many things such as:

   • Promoting your business
   • Making money from publishing advertisement or referring affiliate products
   • Sharing your opinion
   • Stress relieving
   • Sharing your photo
   • Driving free web traffic to your primary site
3. What is the free blog site?
   • livejournal.com
   • blogger.com (you can use your existing Gmail account for blogger.com)
   • wordpress.com
   • flickr.com (for photo blog)
   • xanga.com
   • typepad.com
   • vox.com
   • myspace.com
   • 360.yahoo.com
   • neigo.com (also good for photo blog)
4. My blog doesn’t have comment. Why?

   There are two possible reasons:

   1. You don’t enable comments so that people can’t comment.
   2. People may not be interested with your blog posts so they don’t comment.

   Obviously you can fix it by:

   1. Enable comment so that people can comment.
   2. Make your blog more appealing and encourage your readers to comment.
5. How can increase traffic to my blog?

   Basically there are two ways to increase traffic to your blog:

   1. Pay traffic
   2. Organic traffic

6. How do I enter a YouTube video onto my blog?

   On the right side of the video on YouTube, you see this menu below. Copy all the HTML code inside the Embed field.

   

   Then when you compose or edit your blog post or page

   1. Choose the “View HTML”.
   2. Paste the HTML code from the YouTube embed field into the text area.
   3. See the preview of your blog post (if you use Wordpress, click “Save and Continue Editing”). If the code is right, the video will show up in preview.
   4. Pulbish your blog post along with the YouTube video.
