Finally I Move From Windows To Mac! :)
After being so fed up with Windows’ slowness, including frequent freezing and losing of unsaved data, I braved myself to get myself a Mac. So yesterday I bought myself the new aluminum MacBook along with the cordless Mighty Mouse
I must admit that it was not an easy decision. After all I’ve been using Windows for almost half of myself and the price tag of the MacBook is about 3 times of Dell Inspiron notebook. I browsed many Mac forum and asking questions, and also asked my friends who got the enlightenment (moved from Windows to Mac).

Before making my ultimate decision, I did research if there’s the Mac version (or at least the alternative) for my frequently used programs such as Camtasia, SnagIt, ActiveSync, WinRAR, and so on, including how to export all of my data safely to Mac. Yes, I got my ThunderBird mailboxes and FireFox bookmarks intact on my new Mac!
And my first impression on my new MacBook and Mac OS X: they’re impressive and very easy to use!

-
Switching from one program to another is so easy using Expose. It’s much much better than Windows Alt Tab!
-
I can have a few desktops for working space using Spaces.
-
Uninstalling programs is so easy… just by moving it to trash bin that it scares me that I may accidentally uninstall my programs.
So I can say that this moving from Windows to Mac is one of my greatest decision!

More and more people are doing what you did. Everyone claims Mac’s are better than Windows, maybe they are. I personally have been using Windows for so long I don’t think I could bring myself to desert it. Good luck with your new computer. Regards!

Thanks!
Yes, it’s very scary to move from Windows to Mac, but once I did it, I enjoy it very much! You should brave yourself to ditch Windows
There’s almost no learning curve for Mac!

Hey, Mac’s are just as good as Windows. Everyone always concerns themselves with which is better, I say which is better for you? I have been using both for years and I can’t say which is better. Hopefully everything works out for you, take care.

Well, I had a few problems connecting my PDA, 3G modem, printer and scanner to my Mac… But a thorough Google searches fix them and I still like Mac better than Windows

I bought mac a year ago, but I still use both, PC and Mac. Both have their own benefits. but overall Mac is better.

Wow that’s a nice mac!
I’ve always wondered what the difference was after seeing all the commercials on tv off course.. thanks for explaining it.
I myself don’t know if I can make the transition from pc to mac, I’m not a big fan of change lol.
But it does sound pretty easy to use so maybe I’ll put a little more thought into it!
Nice post!

I’d love to make the change, but with thousands invested in software, I just can’t afford the price of the mac, plus crossgrading all my software…

Could you please tell me how you managed to copy your Thunderbird profile from Windows to Mac? I´m having problems with this myself.
Thanks on beforehand.

@ Ben: there’s a bit learning curve, but I got used to Mac very fast. I still use Windows occasionally for few programs that are not available in Mac though.

We are having nearly 50 computer in our office, and using windows XP in all of the systems, we use only photoshop, firefox, dreamviewer, and few more web related software. We are happy with XP, but as far as I know it is not so secure as linux but linux is very complicated to use (I tried it ones), can someone suggest me that can I use the MAC on the same PC’s, and on the MAC security and networking features.
Thanks
