I’ve found that geotargeting works well when a the main keyword is too competitive. For example if you’re trying to target “kids toys” you won’t be able to rank on page1 for that keyword so if you target “kids toys texas” you’ll get less searches for that keyword but at least you’ll rank on page1 and receive traffic.

Thanks for pointing this out.

I remember creating a niche site last year, this site did not receive traffic and i was pissed because i had spent so much time on it.

Little did i know that in that period of the year, google trends tool registered a decline in searches.

Now i always research the trends before i start anything and this new google tool just makes things easier.

Thanks Aldian. I’ve read so many information regarding this “hot” niche monetization technique and I got the impression that people will easily find your website through search engine if you are targeting it properly, as if no promotion or marketing activities are needed.

So you mean, although, let’s say I found a “hot” niche and build everything necessary to monetize it, I still have to promote it in order to let the prospect know about the site, right?

@Budhi: On the Internet, people find certain websites from using search engines or referral from other sites or their friends. No matter how popular a hot niche is, it’s useless if people can’t find that site. The traffic generation methods are used to let the prospect know about the site.

Here’s an analogy:

Say there’s a huge public park and there’s a public rest room there. Unfortunately the rest room is not listed in the map of the park and the park information booth doesn’t where the rest room is. Furthermore this rest room doesn’t have any sign either.

So how can people who have the nature call can find this rest room or even know if there’s a rest room?

Apart of your helpful article, I am still not very convinced that if I find a “hot” niche –> build a website/blog around it –> do some SEO –> put a few monetization means such adsense blocks –> people will start coming in –> and the money is pouring in automatically.

What happens with marketing and promotion techniques mentioned in so many traffic generation methods scattered across the internet???

Is that mean if you find a “hot” niche then you don’t really need to do any of those methods, since people is already looking for it?
