thanks for this blog.
but i tried the procedure here step-by-step and it didnt work for me.
i had a problem during the authentication stage (service provided) where it should be configured as PAP. i couldnt seem to find it in the Advanced section of the modem configuration.

what i did is download the latest MobileConnect client at the official Huawei site at http://www.huawei.com/mobileweb/en/doc/list.do?type=-1&id=736

i then downloaded the “E220 Client Software MACHOSTB023D01SP00C03 for Mac (1298 KB) 01-Apr-2008″.

installed it and created a new profile using the following configurations (PLDT WeRoam):
- APN: weroam
- Telephone No: *99#
- Username: pldt@weroam
- Password: pldt
- Authentication: PAP

hope this helps other readers as well.
