How To Create Unique Articles Using Public Domain Materials
Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 • Category
There are tons of usable content in public domain. From books to images to audios. You can do anything with them as long as their copyright has expired.
How to find public domain materials? You can search through WorldCat. Click on the “Advance Search”, enter “1870″ in the publication start date and enter “1923″ in the publication end date (see illustration below). You can search using your niche keywords in the “Keyword” or “Title” search.

The problem with public domain materials, most of them are not digitized, which you can solve by using OCR (optical character recognition) scanner and software.
There are two ways to do this:
- You scan and convert the public domain books yourself by using OCR software such as Rediris Pro. This takes your time and you need to invest on the tools.
- You send the book by mail to Data Dash and have them digitized the book for you.
