Optimize Opt-in and Sales Conversion – Google Website Optimizer
Split testing is very important to optimize your website performance, to increase and optimize your opt-in and sales conversion. The problem with many split testing software and tools, they can only split test for two variables at once. So if you want to test more variables, you must wait until your first experiment finishes then continue with your new experiment.
Google Website Optimizer comes to the rescue. Being a tool part of Google Adwords, Google Website Optimizer is a free tool to optimize your website performance. There are only 2 requirements to use Google Website Optimizer:
- You must have a Google Adwords account. Sign up for AdWords.
- You must have a Google Analytics account (with administrator privilege). Sign up for Analytics.
After you signing to AdWords and Analytics, login into your AdWords account and click “Website Optimizer” tab. Google will walk you through the steps to create your split test experiment.

You can divide your experiment pages into sections and create variations for each section. Then Web Optimizer will automatically test the combinations of all sections’ variations by rotating them.
In this screen shot below I made 3 sections with 2 variations each for my OptiMINDzation Attraction Accelerator opt-in page: headline, icon and logo, and opt-in message.
Now it’s very very important to have irresistible headlines and copy writing to split test. I myself am not a “gifted” copy writer so I use secret tool to create my irresistible headlines and copy writing. This secret tool generates best selling headlines for your automatically. You just need to copy and paste them into your split test experiment.

After you finish creating your sections’ variations, you can preview their combinations. The more combinations you have, the longer your experiment takes, depending on your traffic. It’s a great idea to boost your targeted traffic during split testing. I use this secret weapon to boost my targeted traffic.
After you’ve done previewing your combination, launch your split test experiment!

You need to have Google Analytics with administrative privilege. I was asked by Google to register for Google Analytics before I can use Web Optimizer.
