Singapore Airline Ground Service Sucks
I have a very high expectation of Singapore Airline, being the best airline company… But now it upset me. Its ground service is really horrible.
The check-in officer in Jakarta told me that I could pick up my son’s checked-in umbrella stroller along with my other checked-in luggage in Singapore. But when we arrived in Singapore, we waited for long time and the stroller never came up. We asked one of the staff there and she said that the stroller was supposed to be picked up at the gate, just after we went out of the flight.
Wow, what a conflicting information between the Singapore Airline’s ground officer in Jakarta and Singapore!
To make a long story short, the stroller was lost , so I reported it to the lost and found. The lost and found promised that the stroller would be delivered yesterday but it was not delivered yet until now.
There was also another thing that upset me. The lost and found officer said that lost stroller often happens because each airport handles luggage differently. If they know this, why don’t they anticipate and prevent strollers from getting lost?
Worse, every time I called the lost and found hot-line, it was always answering machine… Noone answered the phone.
I can understand and accept this horrible experience if I fly with low-fare airlines but I fly with Singapore Airline.
Oh well, I’ll just buy a new stroller today since we really need a stroller. It won’t be the same one because the lost stroller got some accesories from my son’s grand parents (my parents) that they bought overseas…
I wonder if you ever have unpleasant experience with airline companies?

I feel for you, man. I don’t go often to your part of the World, but when I do I will keep your story in mind, thanks.

I’ve travelled with Singapore Airlines for several times and I have to say, they’ve got the best service. Probably, it’s a miscommunication problem.

I seen some worse things at some other airlines, people would lose their child car seat. So another wards, a parents end up staying at the airport, till the car seat shows up! Sometimes the airlines have loaners, but they are alway in use, or they are for smaller children(they normally don’t have toddler forward facing chairs for instance)
But, that was still odd for a gate check. Those are the first items that get unloaded most of the time.

well, never dealt with SQ ground service. But so far… I enjoy flying with Singapore Airlines.

Indeed, SQ’s in-flight service is top notch. I can’t agree more with you on that.
But its ground service is really disappointing… It didn’t live up to SQ’s reputation.

Wow, that totally stinks. My sister and her husband seem to get their luggage lost almost every time they fly, unfortunately. I think they have almost always gotten it delivered within a few days, but its sometimes the worse for wear.

What a Shame.
Singapore Airline is really the worlds’ best airline, to have a luggage issue like this isn’t cool.
Have you received it yet?
Hope you’ve found a good substitute for your baby’s stroller.

Have flown all day with SQ and it’s rubbish!
Usually stay well clear of anything Star Alliance and stick to KLM, but this trip to Australia slipped through.
So far online check-in hasn’t worked, I’ve been stuck in poor seat from LHR to SIN, the lady at Heathrow refused me to upgrade with points and they lost my luggage for my overnight stay in Singapore.
World’s best airline….bollocks.

As you say if the Airports are aware that they have a problem in a certain area surely they should put measures in place that will stop them from happening again.

…It goes out with saying that even the #1 airline in the world has its negativities. Nothing seems to be perfect in this world.
But, I’m still holding my dream that someday I’d be able to fly on one of the airbuses of Singapore Airlines.
